It's like a party...

Tonight was a late night, as we went to a neighbor's house for dinner and stayed a little too long. It's always easy to do that when the company is good and the kids are getting along. But by the time Rosemary climbed up on the poker table (twice!) and Lilly was crying over the slightest thing, we knew it was time to go home. Despite the lateness of the evening, Lilly asked for one of her Easter books and I agreed. It was "The Legend of the Easter Egg." In the story, the little boy learns that the Easter egg represent the joy and promise of Easter, eternal life. I then explained to Lilly that Jesus washes our sin away so that we can be in Heaven with Him when we die. She then looked at me and spoke with great conviction, "It's like going to a party that you don't ever want to leave!" What a great way to describe Heaven! I was so proud of how she "got it".

It is like a party that we never want to leave and we never have to! And Jesus wants us there so much that He was willing to die to get us an invitation! All we have to do is RSVP!
